I’m looking forward to speaking at OGS 2024 this year. Run by the Ontario Genealogical Society, this event takes place from June 14th-16th 2024 in Toronto at Delta Hotels by Marriott Toronto Airport. This year’s conference theme is “An Interactive Experience – Explore, Engage, Enjoy!”
Incredibly, it has been nearly 40 years since I was last in Toronto but I remember finding the city enchanting as a teenager. I also have some not-very-distant family to seek out and reintroduce myself to. They might find I’ve changed a bit…
OGS has assembled an impressive roster of speakers for this year’s event. Other DNA-related speakers include luminaries Blaine Bettinger, Diahan Southard and Mags Gaulden. In addition to his DNA talks, Blaine Bettinger will be taking part in a special Artificial Intelligence and Genealogy Day. I also look forward to catching up with other genealogists, including Scottish and Irish genealogy specialist Chris Paton, who is another marquee speaker.
As for me, I’ll be conducting a workshop showcasing how you can use tools at DNA Painter to connect matches. I’ll also be taking part in a panel and discussion leading an interactive session on interpreting DNA matches. You can read more about all the amazing sounding sessions at the conference website.
Best of all, you can still access discounted early bird pricing. But you’ll need to be quick as this ends January 31st, which may be sooner than you think it is. I can’t believe how quickly this year is flying by!
I hope to see you in Toronto for OGS 2024.
